Jason loves his work. He is a highly experienced and qualified HR professional with a rare combination of skills and experience collected over 30 years of working mostly in the service sector, where the quality of human interactions counts for so much of the customer experience.
With a law degree as well as HR qualifications he is perfectly placed to see the natural justice in employee/employer relations and is skilled at creating and introducing fair, legal, and constructive policies. His focus is on high-level practical, useable HR strategies, from motivation theory and practice, managing performance and grievance, recruitment, and operational management. He is clear-sighted in these areas, setting realistic milestones for organisations and ensuring fairness for all in the process.

Deeper than that, Jason loves working with people. The earliest part of his career, selling ice creams over the counter (he claims that to this day he can hold thirteen ice-cream cones in one hand and add the ice cream!), kitchen portering and working in Mrs. Hudson’s Potato Shop at Granada Studio Tours means he understands and respects just how hard front line staff work. Now, some 30 years later, that experience means he is a skilled coach, and an active listener, and he ensures that employee voices are heard.
Look wider and you’ll find a fascinating character – from skillfully avoiding being held hostage in his own hotel by a deranged kitchen porter when he was Deputy General Manager, to a man who raises funds for charity by leaping out of airplanes and who cares for his local society and helps out in his church. The day often starts with a visit to the gym. His office at home has a huge collection of classic and cult TV shows and series and Friday night is often TV DVD night.
